This morning we sailed for the village of Angkor Ban. By now I was feeling much stronger and able to enjoy the Napkin and Towel folding demonstration. I have already posted photos of the towel sculptures created in my cabin by the lovely Trang, my cabin stewardess. She had been very concerned about my illness telling Bob that ‘I had been taken to Hopital’. Trang left me many notes in perfect English wishing me well – lovely people the Cambodians and Vietnamese. Thank you Trang.
By 3.00pm we had arrived at Angkor Ban and walked the short distance to the Pagoda where we were to witness a short Buddha Blessing Ceremony before taking a walk around this traditional village of 100-year-old stilted houses. It was one of the few villages not destroyed during the Khmer Rouge tragedy.
Here are a few photos to capture the spirit and culture of this village.
